GFCI’s and garage fridges do not mix.

At some point in time, you will find out that the old fridge you stuck in the garage will not work when plugged into a GFCI outlet.

Here are some great reasons to think about a new freezer or fridge.

1. The old fridge is really not energy efficient. ( a newer one will save electricity) Enough to pay for itself.
2. The old fridge does not have enough insulation to operate well in a 100 + degree garage.
3. The old fridge is unsafe.  The tripping GFCI is warning you of a safety hazard.

When you are tempted to replace the wall outlet with a standard duplex outlet, Please don’t!  The gfci is warning you and protecting you.

By standing on a cement floor and touching a metal door with 120 volts inside it, you need all the protection you can get. Think twice and be safe.
